IN HOME CARE GOVERNMENT CHILD CARE REBATE

Abracadabra is proud to announce that we were one of the first Agencies in Victoria to be an Approved Providers for the inaugural IN-Home Care scheme with the Department of Family Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. Abracadabra In Home Care services receives Australian Government funding form the Stronger Families and Communities Strategy: Choice and Flexibility in Child Care initiative. The scheme is a relatively new but not extensively known, so we would like to take this opportunity to introduce this new service available to children in their own homes, where a Commonwealth Government Child Care Rebate can be claimed for each child cared for.
i.e. 3 children under school age, means the rebate can be claimed (3 times) for each child for each hour they are cared for.

Am I Eligible?
The following criteria must be meet by our client to be considered eligible for the Child Care Rebate in your home.

Category:

  1. Families must not have access to an existing child care service OR

  2. Their circumstances mean that an existing child care service cannot meet their needs and where families meet one or more of the following:-CRITERIA

Criterion:

  1. The parent/s work shift work or non standard hours.

  2. They live in a rural or remote area.

  3. Has a child with an illness or disability.

  4. One of the parents has an illness or disability that reduces the family's capacity to care for the child/ren.

  5. They have had a multiple birth - three or more children born at the same time.

  6. Three or more children under school age.

30% Child Care tax Tax Rebate for out of pocket expenses.

Criterion:

  1. The Child Care Benefit Work/Training/Study Test for Child Care Tax Rebate.

This scheme also allows families to access up to 13 weeks with some funding available for Child Care in their home to assist the family during a crisis or an illness of either parent or child.
CRITERIA:
Proof of temporary financial hardship or child at risk

Registration:
Forms are available from Medicare offices (Claim for Child Care Rebate) or by telephoning Family Assistance Office F.A.O on 13 61 50 (Multi Lingual 13 12 02)
To add a new born child to existing family registration, as a parent and all children need their own child care registration number (CRN)
